Patination, BMA Finishing, Bronzing and Toning are all terms used to describe the intentional colouring of a bronze or brass surface by the application of chemical compounds. The patina is formed by a chemical reaction between the metal surface and the compound in contact with it, the colour is a physical part of the object, unlike paint.

We can undertake all types and colours of patination, including BMA finishing for architectural features and original art works. We have carried out patination work for high profile buildings such as Selfridges & Co, The British Library, London University and for artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Rebecca Warren and Wendy Taylor CBE.
